International Center for Information Science and Technology (ICIST)

The International Center for Information Science and Technology (ICIST) has been established in April 2007 as an affiliated center of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology (IST). The objective of ICIST is to promote, from an international perspective, research intended to create new information systems and new fields. To achieve this goal, ICIST conducts activities such as cooperation with international institutions, support of young researchers, and community-university cooperation.

  • International Exchange Activities of IST
Concerning international exchange agreements, IST makes academic exchange agreements and student exchange memoranda, and arranges the exchanges of students. An International Course on Informatics has been established, with the Japanese-French Laboratory for Informatics (JFLI) as its core institution. Moreover, the graduate school offers an English Program in Information Science and Technology, in which students can obtain their degree through education given only in English. A wide range of other activities are also conducted, such as participation in events held in each country to present our graduate studies opportunities to foreign students, participation in institutional programs encouraging the mobility of students and young researchers, joint research with international partners and international conferences.
