Information on the Extension of Appointment Periods for Fixed-Term Project Faculty and Researchers Taking Childcare Leave
The Graduate School of Information Science and Technology supports outstanding researchers after childbirth and during childcare so that they can balance research and educational activities with parenting, thereby further advancing research and scholarship through diverse ways of working. As part of this effort, when fixed-term project faculty members or researchers employed with funds from endowed chairs, social cooperation programs, joint research, or commissioned research with private organizations take childcare leave and request an extension of their appointment period in order to achieve the original objectives of the research, the Graduate School may ask the sponsoring company or organization to discuss such an extension.
