The Graduate School of Information Science and Technology is implementing a program to support student-initiated activities that promote diversity and inclusion within our school. This program offers financial support for events and activities that students plan and participate in (e.g., attending conferences for women and gender minorities in information science like the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, or organizing/participating in diversity-related workshops on and off campus).
The purpose of this program is to provide students with opportunities to contribute to diversity and inclusion, foster their personal growth through these experiences, and contribute to advancing diversity and inclusion across the entire graduate school.
Last year, students from our university attended the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC). After GHC, they visited Harvard University (photo left) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (photos right top and bottom).
Students who receive support are required to present their findings and outcomes at a reporting session hosted by the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology.

Selection will be conducted by the Gender Equality Committee based on application materials. Selection criteria include academic performance, significance of the activity, future goals, and other comprehensive factors.
