The University of Tokyo places great importance on dialogue based on the principles of "Diversity and Inclusion". International Affairs Division will hold a trial online "interactive exchange event". Through this event, we aim to create international connections, experience the diverse ways of thinking of international students and their lives overseas, and lead to mutual understanding of life and culture in Japan and overseas.
If you wish to interact with international students, study abroad in the near future, or would like to talk casually in English or Japanese, or if you are an international student and want to interact with Japanese students or learn about Japanese culture and life, why don't you join us for a fun online exchange event ? We are looking forward to your participation.
1.Date and time: Friday, July 30, 2021, 18:00-19:30 (JST)
2.Eligibility: Students of the School of Engineering and Graduate School of Information Science and Technology
3.Venue: This event will be held on Zoom * The URL will be emailed to participants before the day of the event.
4.Number of participants: 150 persons (first come, first served)
5.Outline:
-Opening remarks: Dean Someya Takao, School of Engineering
Dean Suda Reiji, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology
-Breakout Session: Participants will be split into groups. (30 minutes x 2 times:groups of 6-8 people ・We will have groups that speak in English, groups that speak in Japanese, and groups that speak in both Japanese and English.
・Self-introduction and discussion topics will also be provided.
・Faculty or staff will be in each group to provide support as needed.
-Introduction of various international exchange programs; the certification system of UTokyo with international comprehensive ability (GGG)
-Group photo session (only if you wish.)
※The entire session will proceed in English, but the breakout sessions will be divided between Japanese and English. Faculty or staff will join each group and provide support for non-native English or Japanese speakers.
