Students will be accepted from a wide range,
including working students.

English (TOEFL), mathematics (three problems in the
following three fields:
(1) linear algebra;
(2) analysis (differential/integral calculus,
ordinary differential equations, etc.);
and (3) probability/statistics.),
specialized subjects (three out of five
problems selected from the following fields: electrical and
electronic circuits, computer architecture, logic circuits,
algorithms and data structures, telecommunications,
computer networks, signal processing and information theory),
and oral exam.

The guides can be acquired in person at the Graduate School Team
Office in the Educational Affairs Group, located on the 1st Floor
of Faculty of Engineering Building 8 on the Hongo Campus.
The office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and
is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Please send your request for the Guide to the following address.
Be sure to indicate the department (Department
of Information and Communication Engineering), as well as
the course
("Masters", "Doctoral", or "Doctoral for Working Graduates)"
you apply to.
Enclose a self-addressed return envelope
(A4-size). If the return address is in Japan,
affix 350yen in stamps to it.
If the address is outside of Japan, enclose
necessary amount of IRCs. IRC, International Reply Coupons,
can be purchased at post offices worldwide.
Enclose the following number of IRCs depending on the recipient's

The Graduate School of Information Science and Technology
evaluates English abilities using official TOEFL score
reports submitted by candidates. Our entrance exams, therefore,
do not include foreign language testing.
Obtaining your TOEFL score may take a significant amount of
time due to the large volume of TOEFL applications.
We strongly suggest that you make the necessary arrangements to
take the TOEFL test immediately if you plan to apply for
a program at the Graduate School.
