Summer Examinations

Master's and Doctoral programs of all departments.

  • Submission period: June 23 (Thu) 2016 — June 29 (Wed) 2016
  • Examination period: August 22 (Mon) 2016 — August 29 (Mon) 2016
  • Entrance time: October 2016 or April 2017

Winter Examinations

Doctoral programs of all departments; Master programs of Department of Computer Science, Department of Information and Communication Engineering, and the Department of Creative Informatics.

  • Submission period: December 12 (Mon) 2016 — December 14 (Wed) 2016
  • Examination period: Between late January and middle of February 2017 (See departments' admission guides for details)
  • Entrance time: April 2017

Admission Guide for the 2017 Master’s and Doctoral Program of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo will be posted on October 17 (Mon), 2016.

The Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, accepts applications to Master's and Doctoral Programs for entry in academic year 2017.

In order to take entrance examination, all applicants have to submit the prescribed application form. This application form is a paper form which you must obtain via postal mail. We don't accept the electric version of the application form.

You can receive them at the Office of Graduate School of Information Science and Technology (Engineer building No.8, 1F, Hongo Campus), from 9:00 to17:00 on weekday.

PDF files of the application forms are available for your inspection below. They cannot be used for application.

Entrance Exam Briefing

Place: 213 (1F) in Faculty of Engineering Bldg. 2 (map )

Graduate School of Information Science and Technology will hold a briefing of entrance examination. It's free and no prior registrations are necessary. If you are considering the admission to Master's program or Doctoral program of Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, you are welcome to come to the briefing. After the general introduction to the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, each department has its own briefing session in a separate room. Each department introduces itself and gives the explanation about its entrance examination. Some departments also introduce research groups and have research demos.
