Application Period Schedule
Summer Examinations
For all Departments, Master’s program and Doctoral program.
- Submission period: June 27 (Thursday), 2013 to July 3 (Wednesday), 2013
- Examination period: August 19 (Monday), 2013 to August 23 (Friday), 2013
- Entrance time: October 2013 or April 2014
Winter Examinations
For all Departments of Doctoral program, and for the Department of Computer Science, Department of Information and Communication Engineering and the Department of Creative Informatics of Master's program.
- Submission period: December 16 (Monday), 2013 to December 18 (Wednesday), 2013
- Examination period: Between late January and middle of February, 2014 (For details on schedules, refer to “the Admission Guide” for the Department)
- Entrance time: April 2014

The Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, accepts applications for the 2014 Master’s and Doctoral Program. (Admission Guide of winter examinations was released on late October, 2013.)
| In order to take entrance examination, all applicants have to submit the prescribed application form. This application form is paper based form which you have to ask the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology to ship it out to you by postal mail. We don’t accept the electric version of the application from. |

You can receive them at the Office of Graduate School of Information Science and Technology (Engineer building No.8, 1F, Hongo Campus), from 9:00 to17:00 on weekday.
TOEFL Scores *Important*
Since 2005, the TOEFL has replaced the English language entrance exam. Please refer to the “2014 Guidelines for Submission of TOEFL Scores”.
How to make a payment of examination fee by credit card
For the applicants of Winter Entrance Examination can pay the examination fee by credit card. The period you can pay by credit card for summer examination is from June 17 (Monday), 2013 to July 3 (Wednesday), 2013, for winter examination is from December 2(Monday), 2013 to December 18 (Wednesday), 2013.

Graduate School of Information Science and Technology will held the orientation for entrance examination as following schedule. Pre-application nor participation fee is not necessary.
If you are considering the admission to Master's course or Doctoral program of Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, please attend the orientation. After the general explanation about Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, each department has its own briefing session in each room. Each department introduces itself and gives the explanation about entrance examination. Laboratory introduction and presentation of their research are also scheduled to be given in some departments.
