A modification of Fitzhugh-Nagumo model of neuronal spike is proposed
which employs time delays either in a recovery or fast variable. In
simulations new phenomena including chaos and itinerant Amplitude
switch of oscillations were observed. Initial bifurcation analysis
using Quasipolinomial eigenvalue analysis and perturbation of Hopf
bifurcation point was performed. Criteria for the synchronisation of
two coupled Fitzhugh-Nagumo models with delay were obtained.
